What is a third-party administrator?

A third-party administrator (TPA) is an organization that manages the administrative tasks for insurance plans, such as processing claims, enrolling customers, collecting premiums, and ensuring compliance with regulations. TPAs do not set insurance policy terms, but they help enforce them and can work with multiple insurers. While commonly used in health insurance, TPAs are also utilized in fields like commercial liability and retirement plans as claims adjusters or customer support.

Businesses can obtain group employee benefits either directly from insurers or through TPAs, which focus exclusively on administering and delivering these benefits without assuming any insurance risk. This model arose to address the administrative challenges companies faced with traditional insurance providers, which were primarily focused on underwriting risk.

Our TPA plans include:

  • Phenomenal customer service

  • Employee mobile application

  • Free health and wellness resources

  • Large team for processing and managing Health, Dental, and Disability claims.
